Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship — The Berlin Helicopter Story
Berlin-based Newman Agency marketing firm contacted us to assist their client, Berlin Helicopter, with web development tasks. The project's success was demonstrated when, after approximately two and a half months of development, Webgrow Full Service Digital Marketing Agency launched the site, which has since served as a successful sales channel targeting both domestic and international tourists.

Our Client and Target Audience
German-based Berlin Helicopter was founded in 1990 by pilots Frank Hellberg and Steffen Wardin at the Fehrbellin airfield. Their primary goal is selling flight experiences through their website to both domestic and international tourists.
Berlin Helicopter’s main target audiences include tourists, business professionals, and individuals and groups celebrating special occasions who are looking for a unique flying experience over Berlin.
The company offers helicopter sightseeing tours that let you explore Berlin’s landmarks from a bird’s-eye view. They also provide exclusive charter flights and services for special events.
The project quickly outgrew its initial scope, making several perfectly developed custom features essential for the website. The previous web development team worked exclusively with “boxed” off-the-shelf solutions, which is why outside help was needed.

Challenges and Goals
At the start of our collaboration, the team had already been trying custom web development for over a year, but the boxed technology didn’t allow them to meet their needs. It was very important to us that we only deliver work that our client would be satisfied with after so many disappointments.
The main challenge was to launch the perfected website as quickly as possible, ensuring it runs without issues.
During web development, we also had to ensure the website’s design would appeal not only to locals but could also succeed in the international market.

Despite the challenges (or perhaps because of them), our strategy’s motto became: perfect the website in record time so that it satisfies 100% of both the client’s and the target audience’s needs!
From Dream to Reality — Custom Developments Were Born!
The custom-designed mockups quickly became tangible. We brought to life everything that visitors couldn’t yet see in its entirety.
Weather Forecast
This feature is located in the footer and also has its own menu item. Here visitors can see what the weather is like in Berlin and, depending on conditions, whether the Air Berlin service is operating or not.
Last Minute Deals
This block is only visible when the company has a last-minute deal available. When there isn’t one, this section disappears from the page. Additionally, from-to scheduling is available for these contents, making this section’s operation fully automated.
Helicopter Flight Routes Block
The Helicopter Flight Routes block on the homepage is the result of custom Java development. Using Google Maps, the various tours can be presented step by step through small cards embedded in the map. The complete route is visible as a red line drawn on the map.
External Booking Module Integration
This feature is needed for the various tours (visitors can see it on individual tour pages by clicking “book ticket”).
